YOUTUBE STATS
These YouTube stats show how the ROCK genre is quite popular as well as how the Red Hot Chilli Peppers (chosen band) are very famous.
In the capture from the song Californication, we can see how they are very well known as they have more than 100M visits. The subscriptions to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers channel also show their popularity. The comments in one of their song show how my target audience is potentially mature, as they talk about stuff such as the symbolism of the video or how it makes them feel old.
To conclude, the ROCK channel from YouTube is also fairly popular as it has more than 1M subscriptions.
We also see that in some of the comments, the users appear to be mostly males, which goes on with my TA member profile, that says that rock music users are mainly mature males.
What all this information suggests me is that Rock music an in this case the Red Hot Chilli Peppers are quite popular and recognisable, which makes me think that my music video has to be stereotypical in some ways to address my audience properly.

this needs to be more thorough - look at a range of videos from your genre and get a feel of it's popularity and then your TA.
ReplyDeleteYouTube has lots of stats hidden away so try and look beyond just viewing figures...especially for just 1 song!
